๐ฏ Fantasy NBA Basics
Fantasy NBA comes in two main formats: Category leagues (H2H or Roto across 9 categories: PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, 3PM, FG%, FT%, TO) and Points leagues (simple point totals). Strategy differs significantly between the two.
๐ Category League Strategy
Punting: The most effective strategy. Deliberately weaken 1-2 categories to dominate the remaining 7. Common punts:
- Punt FT% โ Build around Giannis, Bam, Wembanyama. You'll dominate REB/BLK/FG% while ignoring FT%.
- Punt AST โ Load up on wings and bigs. Target 3PM/STL/BLK/REB specialists.
- Punt TO โ Draft high-usage stars (Luka, SGA, Trae) who produce everything but turn it over.
๐ Top Picks by Round (2025-26)
Round 1 Must-Drafts
Nikola Jokic โ #1 overall. Elite in 7 of 9 categories. No weaknesses except BLK.
Luka Doncic โ Massive usage = massive stats. Punt FG%/TO build around him.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander โ 32 PPG with great STL/FG%. Minimal TOs for his usage.
Giannis Antetokounmpo โ Punt FT% and he's a cheat code. Dominant in 6 categories.
Mid-Round Values
Cade Cunningham (Round 3-4) โ 24/6/9 line. Elite AST upside.
Victor Wembanyama (Round 2-3) โ BLK/3PM combo is unique. FG% is improving.
Bam Adebayo (Round 3-4) โ After his 83-point game, don't overlook his consistent 22/10/5 line.
Late-Round Sleepers
Jalen Williams (Round 5-6) โ SGA's co-star. 22/5/5 with good percentages.
Scottie Barnes (Round 4-5) โ Raptors give him the keys. 22/8/6 potential.
โฐ Waiver Wire Tips
- Check the injury report daily โ backup players gain value instantly when starters sit.
- Back-to-backs mean rest days for stars. Stream their replacements.
- Target 4-game weeks for streaming spots โ more games = more stats.
